the ways of the buddhist teacher pupil communion

Hi there,

Now we are facing the wrath of rain all over the country? It’s nature and it must have its say too. Since we are very infinitesimal, we can’t do anything about it; let go and abide by it which could possibly be the best way to manage the situation.

In Himachal the rain has taken the most ferocious form having devastated the region around Kulu and Manali. The ‘Stachog Khabab’ or the Satluj (Satluj in legend comes out from the mouth of a horse hence the term) took its ‘Rudra’ (angry) form and shook the people out of its mundane existence bringing in death and destruction.

Leh, with persistent rain during 20th  of July continuing in the night of 21st July with a minor cloud burst led to inundation of several houses in the Lamdon School vicinity also in the Skampari area almost flooding the main market near main mosque also inundating the Chokhang Vihara first ever.

H H the 14th Dalai Lama’s teaching began at the ‘Jevestal Garden’ Choglamsar on the bank of the mighty Indus River. The first day 21st July was alright without rain and his holiness provided the ‘Loong’ or the verbal recitation of ‘Gyalrtsas Lhaglane Sodunma’ or the thirty seven steps of a Bodhisattva rendered by the famous master Mulchu Gyaltsan Thogmet.

Today, 23rd of July, his holiness provided the ‘Wang’ or the initiation of the Bodhisattva Avaloketeshvara of which he himself being the manifestation. A large number of devotees thronged at the traditional teaching site ‘Jevestal’ in Choglamsar and received this initiation leading him/her on the path of immense ‘Karuna’ or compassion.

He also mentioned that people are very devout and devoted which is exceptional and very inspiring to him as well this year there is also a large contingent of Sangha brothers and sisters.

During the teachings he also apprised the people regarding shunning war and conflict which serves no purpose?

The last day was ‘Tenjuk’ or abiding in the longevity of the Guru for the benefit of the sentient beings and offering in the form of goods and materials are done in a procession being led by a very aged lady having a fully endowed family.

His holiness thanked everyone for their immense trust in his teachings that he would like to come in the future too as the season in Ladakh being just right for his health and body. He also shared with the public that he would live until the age of 110 years at least two more decades for the benefit of sentient beings.

He thanked the organizers for their perfect and efficient management of the three day teachings also the Hill Council and the U.T Administration.

There are several engagements for his holiness in Ladakh the inauguration of the Ýarchos Chenmo’ at Lamdon School vicinity in the coming days. He is also giving a teaching at Sumoor in Nubra region. He has also been requested to give teaching in Zangskar. He would also be consecrating the newly constructed open air statue of Bodhisattva ‘Manjushri’ 100 feet tall in the village of Tia!

Manjushri Mantra:

‘Jhu nu ku lu sha wa po, Sherab don me rab tu gyan, Gigsten soom gi mon sal wa, Jambe yang la chaks tsa lo’!

‘Possessing the youthful body, illuminating with the light of widom, destroyer of the darkness of the three world, to Manjushri I pay my obissience!   Bye for now.
