Witnessing unprecedented deaths in a glooming year (III)

Hi there,

It has really been very stressing during aftermath of second wave of Covid pandemic in India?

But good news is that everything is under control and Administration all over taking great precaution to contain this deadly virus which we understand is a man made rather than the nature?

Similar, pandemic which was a nature induced had been the Spanish flu which came some 100 years back. Our generation has now experienced the unprecedented deaths in a period of 16 months or so the most devastating being during late April and late May which was scary and horrible?

And our country became famous for transmitting the most deadly mutant worst than the English and the Brazil mutant. Here in a remote and high altitude region like ours the scale of deaths has been rising with passing times as so far 190 humans have died in both the district about 140 deaths in Leh and 50 deaths in Kargil ours being a very thinly populated region.

Normal life has come to a halt and people have learnt to isolate themselves as much as possible. Though more things are being relaxed but restrictions too have continued in many ways which indicate the severity of the situation also improving awareness of our people towards this deadly pandemic?

The same hold goods for other regions in our country and so as the world. But one thing is very clear that it would take several years to come back to pre-Covid times if people observe the guidelines strictly also when the government too is ever alert ?

Tourism sector is trying to come back now and some 500 to 800 visitors arrive daily since 10 days back. Restaurants would work with 30% occupancy but mostly delivery. Grocery and other shops too are being encouraged to open. But schools, college and University are not yet open?

There are more Covid containment centres open with best of facilities which is unprecedented for a small town like Leh and Kargil. Covid test are being conducted inspite of RT PCR certificate which is mandatory for a visitor before coming to Leh.

Interantional flights have not yet begun operating? Which may be next month if all goes fine with current covid situation. Friends of Ladakh all across the world miss their trip to Ladakh but the weather has just improved over the last 10 days, otherwise it was still cold here?

As mention earlier tourism in Ladakh begun in the year 1974, about 47 years back with foreign tourist who would come by road without any facility to now with world standard comfort and cuisine!

Domestic tourism started in the year 2004 after the coming of the first BJP government. Now, domestic visitors have surpassed the foreign visitors.

Ladakh provides nature, spiritual, cultural and adventure tourism including heritage stays and homestays along with eco-tourism! So you could start exploring for your probably stay in Ladakh in the coming days.

With this I would like to end this topic and come with other themes in the coming days. Life is a constant struggle where ever you live, but it is worth living a meaningful life which makes our day!

Bye for now!
